M/WBE Mentor

TDX Construction Corporation has a long-standing commitment to increasing involvement in public construction work by Minority, Woman and Small Business Enterprises which we significantly enhanced in 2004 through our partnership with Howell Industries.

TDX has been mentoring M/WBE contractors for the NYC School Construction Authority since 1993. In this Mentor Program, projects are set-aside for bid only by certified M/W/LBE contractors, who work under the supervision of a construction manager. TDX is the only firm to have served successfully as a CM in the SCA's Mentor Program since its inception in 1993. Through the Mentor Program, TDX has managed over 850 projects valued at more than $300 million by M/WBE contractors in K-12 schools ranging from complete modernizations to deferred maintenance work.

Earlier, TDX managed the construction of several important set-aside projects including: the $40 million Gymnasium, Athletic fields and Auditorium/Theater at York College; and the renovation of the Apollo Theater. The work was broken into multiple, smaller construction packages, most of which were awarded to MBE contractors. TDX provided support and coordination for contractors throughout the construction process.
