TDX Construction Corporation has served as Construction Manager for the New York City School Construction Authority’s Mentor Program since its inception in 1993. The Mentor Program was designed to help minority and women-owned businesses gain experience in school construction. TDX has played a major role in the success of this program and has contributed to many of the procedures and policies in place today.
TDX has managed more than 2,200 Mentor Projects for a construction value in excess of $693 million. Projects in this program range from interior and playground renovations valued at less than $50,000 to building modernizations and building services upgrades valued at more than $850,000. TDX’s responsibilities have included design management, cost estimating, contract solicitation and award, CPM scheduling, project supervision, reporting, contract administration and closeout.
TDX provides direct coaching, training and mentoring of MWLBE contractors including producing assessments and evaluations, holding one-to-one and group coaching sessions on administrative and technical issues, assisting contractors in applying for financing and bonding, providing business development support and direction, and assisting contractors in transitioning to the union environment.
