TDX is serving as Construction Manager for a $200 million Residential Building at South Beach Psychiatric Center on Staten Island. The new 232,000 SF building includes adult and adolescent behavioral health care beds, a dental clinic, pharmacy and administrative support spaces and is linked to the recently constructed Central Services Building.
The new building will house dining areas, a centralized pharmacy, a centralized medical mall, centralized nursing, interior and exterior program spaces, patient admissions, a mental health court and visitor center. It will also incorporate current design strategies to prevent property and infrastructure damage during future climate change events such as storms or soil erosion.
The new facility is located on the property of the existing South Beach Psychiatric Center on Seaview Avenue across the street from South Beach. The property is subject to serious flooding during storm events. The project involves raising the site by roughly 15 feet by importing, placing, grading and compacting 110,000 cubic yards of fill. The project includes extensive retaining walls to contain the new fill, as well as landscape and hardscape improvements.
