TDX managed all phases of pre-construction and construction for this gut renovation of the 41,000 SF Riverside Health Center on West 100th Street in Manhattan. The LEED Gold project includes a full-time STD clinic, a reception area with seating for 20 people, intake interview rooms, exam rooms, a laboratory, a phlebotomy lab, medical records storage and counseling rooms on the 1st floor. The cellar and 2nd through 3rd floors included workstations, offices, teaching classrooms and an auditorium. The work was completed while the adjoining public library remained open to the public.
In an effort to promote physical activity and well-being, the building functions were reorganized to provide a clear flow of spaces for visitors and staff. The redesign encourages visitors to walk rather than take the elevator. In addition to the emphasis on the use of the stairs, an exercise room, showers, and bike rack facilitate a comprehensive physical health program.
